Anderson Dairy

We took another field trip with the military play group to the local dairy in town.  There are no cows, however they do make all sorts of food in the "dairy" food group on their property.  The tour of the dairy was really short and I am quite certain there wasn't much learned by the kids, except there is a scary, stinky smoke machine that goes off near the freezer section of the tour, but more importantly, they get free ice cream.

Walking in

Watching the talking cow.

Milk!

They did listen intently, but again, I know they are thinking "where's the ice cream".

SCORE!

Cookies & Cream.  Even the mommies got to indulge.

After the tour, I asked Kylie "so what's in ice cream".  She'd always respond with 2 of the 3 correct ingredients...she'd say "milk, sugar and butter" or "milk, sugar and cheese".  Gross honey.  Its milk, sugar and cream.

A decent smile out of everyone, and faces towards the camera....a good day.

  1. What a fun field trip, complete with a frozen treat! It doesn't get any better than that in the heat of summer!

  2. So I'm confused. Do they have the milk shipped in and then just treat it and bottle it there?
